Other than surfing Christa likes to enjoys music. "Music helps me get through problems. I love when you play a guitar and mix in a grand piano, I find that really magical." Christa has always had an eye for art and has books and books and books full of artwork she does. Christa also loves to write poetry and songs. Surfing has a huge impact of McAneney's life, but through that she found filming. "My mom got me a GoPro Hero 2 for my 14th birthday and I use everyday, take it everywhere, and love making mini surf movies." Christa also enjoys to do mini photoshoots with some photographers and friends. "I am not saying I am a model, but people come up to me and ask me to do a shoot. I am pretty insecure so I usually say no. I have said yes once and really enjoyed it! I hope to do more for Soul Gurfers too."
